LaRue Calliet, is a portrait photographer based in Atlanta, Georgia. His work explores themes of joy, depression, pride, sexuality, hope, love, and mystery – taking personal experiences and transforming them into theme-filled scenes. With over ten years of professional experience, LaRue’s work has been recently displayed in group exhibitions for the City of Atlanta Division of LGBTQ Affairs Annual Mayor’s Pride Exhibit and the Atlanta LGBTQ History Project’s “Out Down South” exhibit at the Center for Civil and Human Rights.

LaRue is a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies, with an emphasis on Graphic Design & Public Relations. After graduation in 2012, he established a photography studio at Marshall Arts Gallery in Memphis, TN. During this time, he collaborated with a variety of up-and-coming designers, makeup artists, and models to define his style, while learning new skills such as sewing. This is where he captured Latvian Olympic Pole Vaulter, Pauls Pujats and included him in his series “Shrouded Souls”.
